CUSTER COUNTRY UNVEILS NEW BIRDING TRAIL BROCHURE
Bird watchers around the country will have a new tool for engaging in their favorite hobby. Custer Country’s Southeastern Montana Birding Trail guide and map are now available. The pocket-sized fold-out map contains information about 15 different locations in Custer Country that provide some of the best opportunities for observing birds in the wild.
Custer Country President, Rose Emily Longan of Roundup, says, “This map is a cooperative effort between Custer Country; Travel Montana; Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks; BLM; the U.S. Forest Service and countless volunteers who gave their time to provide accurate information about the 15 areas. From Roundup to Ekalaka, the sites include the Roundup River Walk Heritage Trail, three locations in Billings and others in or near Pryor, Hysham, Miles City, Glendive and Otter.”
“Bird watchers will love the full-color brochure with its stunning pictures of native Montana birds. Clear directions to each of the locations are provided in the map, as well as information on which bird species are likely to be found at each site,” Longan said.
“The brochure is another tool for Custer Country, which is comprised of 13 counties and 2 Indian Reservations in southeast Montana, to use to inform travelers in Montana and the rest of the country about the many scenic attractions in the region that covers over 33,000 square miles,” says Executive Director Jim Schaefer of Forsyth.
Cynroc Business Development, who designed the map for Custer Country, announced that the National Audubon Society has agreed to place the brochures in some of their Nature Centers around the country. The brochures are also available in many motels, FWP sites, chamber offices, BLM offices and other locations throughout Custer Country.
The map is available by request through Custer Country’s website at www.CusterCountry.com, and is available in printable form on their site. For more information or to order a free Custer Country Vacation Guide, go to the website or call
