If April showers bring May flowers, what does March bring? Aside from anticipation for the balmy days of spring, it also brings a special event to Custer Country. The amazing spectacle “Walking with Dinosaurs” will be staged at MetraPark in Billings starting on March 30. This amazing show features life size animatronic figures of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. These life-size creations are amazing mixes of art and engineering and provide a fantastic look at the world the way it was 150 million years ago.  Tickets are expected to go quickly, so call 406-256-2400 or visit the MetraPark website at www.metrapark.com to reserve your tickets.

“Walking with Dinosaurs” is sure to whet your appetite for learning more about these former residents of Montana. A great way to do that is to visit one or all of the sites on the Montana Dinosaur Trail, a partnership of 15 facilities in Montana that have significant dinosaur displays. Three of those facilities are in Custer Country. They are: Ekalaka’s Carter County Museum (www.CarterCountyMuseum-Ekalaka.org), and Glendive’s Makoshika Dinosaur Museum (www.makoshika.com) and Makoshika State Park, (www.makoshika.org).

To learn more about the other facilities on the trail, go to www.mtdinotrail.org. Want to have a fun and educational summer? Pick up a Montana Dinosaur Trail “Passport” at any of the 15 facilities on the trail, then head out on a quest to visit each one. You’ll be able to get your passport stamped at each facility. After your book is full, you’ll be eligible for a Montana Dinosaur Trail t-shirt and mug while supplies last.
